Our Approach
Programming is structured, predictable, and tailored to meet the needs of children with FASD. Staff are specially trained tosupport regulation, engagement, and positive social interaction in an environment where strengths are recognized and diversity is celebrated.

Program Activities
Activities are designed to be therapeutic, engaging, and enjoyable. Programming may include sensory-based experiences,
recreational and physical activities, creative projects, social games, interactive technology, and access to calming sensory
spaces.
Learning Environments
The program is delivered in a secure, child-friendly setting with access to indoor and outdoor spaces, including gyms,
playgrounds, and sensory rooms designed to support comfort and engagement.
Family Support
Respite provides families with valuable time to rest and attend to personal or family needs. Families may also have
opportunities to access workshops, resources, and community connections related to FASD support.
Program History
Elves has supported individuals with FASD for decades. Beginning in 2000 with Alberta's first early education program for preschool children with FASD, Elves has continued to expand services to meet evolving family needs.
Locations
The FASD Respite Program is offered at the Elves Child Development Centre in Edmonton
